Program:

Day 1: Iasi – Sighișoara – Sibiu

Meeting with the guide at 02:00, Palace of Culture in Iasi, for boarding the bus. Departure at 02:30 on the route Iasi – Sighișoara – Sibiu.

 

 

Day 2: Sighișoara – Sighișoara – Sibiu

We head to Sighișoara, one of the most beautiful inhabited medieval citadels in Europe, included in the UNESCO World Heritage.

  • Sighișoara Citadel & Citadel Square: Built in the 12th century by Saxon colonists, the citadel is a true open-air museum. The cobblestone streets and colorful buildings retain the authentic charm of the Middle Ages.
  • Clock Tower: A symbol of the city, this impressive 64-meter tower offers a spectacular panorama of the citadel.
  • Scholars' Stairs: A covered wooden staircase, built in 1642, leading to the Church on the Hill and used by students to reach school, regardless of the weather.
  • Church on the Hill: Built between 1345-1525, it is one of the most valuable Gothic churches in Transylvania, with a rich history and impressive architectural details.
  • Vlad Dracul House: It is believed that Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for the Dracula legend, was born here.
  • Venetian House: A fascinating building with Venetian Gothic architectural elements, reminiscent of the atmosphere of the Doge's Palace in Venice.

After visiting Sighișoara, we head to Sibiu, a city with a unique charm and a rich history.

  • Great Square: The heart of Sibiu, a lively space with impressive historical buildings and welcoming terraces.
  • Small Square: A picturesque place with Gothic arcades and old buildings, retaining the authentic medieval atmosphere.
  • Bridge of Lies: A bridge full of legends, the first cast iron bridge in Romania, connecting the Upper Town to the Lower Town.
  • Evangelical Cathedral: A symbol of Transylvanian Gothic, with a 73-meter high tower and an impressive interior.

In the evening, accommodation in a hotel or guesthouse near Sibiu and free time for relaxing walks or rest.

 

 

Day 3: Transfăgărășan – Bâlea Lake – Vidraru Dam – Curtea de Argeș – Iasi

After breakfast, we embark on a spectacular journey on the famous Transfăgărășan, considered one of the most beautiful mountain roads in the world.

  • Transfăgărășan: A winding road that climbs up to 2042 m altitude, offering impressive views of the Făgăraș Mountains.
  • Bâlea Lake: Located at 2034 m altitude, this glacial lake impresses with its clear color and stunning mountain landscapes.
  • Vidraru Dam: An engineering masterpiece, built between 1960-1966, with a height of 166 m and a breathtaking panorama.
  • Curtea de Argeș: The first capital of Wallachia, where the famous Curtea de Argeș Monastery is located, an exceptional architectural monument linked to the legend of Master Manole.

After these stops, we continue our journey home.

17:00 – 18:00 – departure for home.

Arrival in Iasi at night, depending on weather conditions, traffic, and customs formalities.
